Plant & Growing Tips
Corn
- Needs full sun.
- Plant in blocks, not rows, for proper pollination.
- Heavy feeder → add compost.
Tomatoes
- Love heat and full sun.
- Water deeply once or twice weekly.
Chili Peppers
- Require long warm season.
- Mulch to retain soil heat.
Cilantro
- Cool-season herb.
- Succession sow every 2–3 weeks.
Natural Pest Control
- Marigolds repel nematodes near corn.
- Ladybugs remove aphids from chili plants.
- Garlic spray prevents fungal issues on tomatoes.
Harvest
Corn
- Ready when silks brown and kernels exude milky juice.
Tomatoes
- Harvest deep red fruits for best sweetness.
Chilies
- Pick green for mild heat; red for stronger flavor.
Cilantro
- Harvest before flowering to avoid bitterness.
Storing & Freezing
Cooked veggies last 2–3 days refrigerated. Tortillas freeze well for 6 months.
