Let’s be clear about this

Visionary is training, not treatment

What it does

  • Rebuilds general strength and conditioning at a pace that matches where you are in your recovery
  • Adapts to the equipment, time and range of movement you actually have
  • Keeps nutrition adequate while healing raises your protein and energy needs
  • Explains load and progression so you don’t rush the return

What it doesn’t do

  • Diagnose an injury, or tell you what’s wrong
  • Prescribe rehab exercises for a specific injury
  • Provide hands-on treatment or clear you to return to sport
  • Replace a physiotherapist, biokineticist or doctor

See a qualified professional about the injury itself and get their clearance before you start training again. Full details in our medical disclaimer.

Starts where your body is now

Eight progressive levels mean you re-enter at your current capacity, not your pre-injury numbers. Load builds gradually, so you're rebuilding rather than re-testing.

Fits around professional care

Your physio owns the rehab. Visionary handles the general strength, conditioning and nutrition alongside it — the part that's usually left to you to figure out.

Teaches you the why

Courses on load, progression and recovery, so you understand what your body is doing. Most re-injuries come from returning too fast — knowing why is what stops that.

Why Cape Town

An active city is a city full of niggles

Cape Town rewards being outside — trail running on the mountain, long road rides, ocean swimming, and a running calendar that peaks with the Two Oceans. The flip side is a lot of overuse injuries and a lot of people trying to come back too quickly because the next event is already in the diary.

The hard part is rarely the rehab itself — your physio has that covered. It’s the weeks afterwards, when the appointments end and you’re left to work out how much training your body can take. That gap is what Visionary is built for.

“Rehab gets you out of pain. What you do in the eight weeks after is what decides whether it happens again.”

Build back gradually — training, nutrition and courses, free for 7 days.

Training after injury — your questions

Can Visionary replace my physiotherapist?

No — and it isn't meant to. A physio diagnoses your injury, does hands-on treatment and prescribes the specific rehab your body needs. Visionary handles the part that comes alongside and after that: rebuilding general strength and conditioning at a pace your body can absorb. Get cleared by a professional first, then use Visionary for the training around it.

How does the training adapt while I'm still recovering?

Programmes run across eight progressive levels, and you start wherever you actually are — not where you were before the injury. You choose the equipment you have access to and the time you can give, and progression is gradual rather than a jump back to your old numbers. If a movement isn't available to you yet, you build the surrounding capacity until it is.

Do I need a gym in Cape Town to use this?

No. Everything works with a full gym, a couple of dumbbells at home, or bodyweight only — useful when you're easing back in and a full session isn't realistic yet. Because it's an app, it works anywhere in the city, from Sea Point to Somerset West.

Does nutrition matter for recovering from an injury?

It matters more than most people expect. Healing tissue raises your protein and total energy needs at exactly the time many people cut calories because they're training less. Visionary's food scanner lets you photograph a meal and see the calories, macros and a health grade instantly, so you can keep intake adequate without logging every ingredient by hand.

How much does it cost?

$29.99/month covers training, nutrition and the full course library together, with a 7-day free trial and no lock-in. That's typically well below the cost of ongoing one-on-one sessions, though it complements professional care rather than substituting for it.
