Homemade Kombucha

Ingredients

  • 1 SCOBY
  • 1 cup starter tea (from previous batch)
  • 4 cups water
  • ¼ cup organic sugar
  • 2 black or green tea bags

Cooking Steps

  1. Boil water and dissolve sugar.

  2. Add tea bags and steep for 10 minutes.

  3. Allow tea to cool completely.

  4. Pour into a glass jar and add starter tea.

  5. Gently place SCOBY on top.

  6. Cover with cloth and ferment 7–10 days.

  7. Remove SCOBY and bottle kombucha.

Storing & Freezing

Refrigerate bottled kombucha up to 2 weeks. SCOBY can be reused indefinitely.
