  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 cups mixed berries or chopped mango

Cooking Steps

  1. Whisk the chia, milk, vanilla and maple; rest 10 minutes and whisk again.

  2. Divide between 5 jars.

  3. Top each with yogurt and fruit; lid.

  4. Refrigerate overnight. Grab one each morning, crunch on at eating time.

Optional Enhancements

  • Dairy-free yogurt and milk
  • Stir cocoa into the base
  • Add protein powder

Plant & Growing Tips

Mixed berries

  • Blueberries require very acidic soil (pH 4.5-5.5); amend with peat moss or sulfur if needed.
  • Plant in full sun and ensure consistent moisture, especially during fruit development.
  • Choose self-pollinating varieties or plant two different varieties for better fruit set.

Mango

  • Mango trees thrive in warm, tropical or subtropical climates with full sun.
  • Water regularly when young, reducing frequency as the tree matures and establishes deep roots.
  • Protect young trees from strong winds and frost if growing in marginal areas.

Natural Pest Control

  • Cover blueberry bushes with bird netting as fruits begin to ripen to protect against feathered friends.
  • Inspect mango leaves regularly for scale insects or mealybugs and treat with horticultural oil.

Harvest

Mixed berries

  • Harvest blueberries when they are fully blue and easily detach from the stem; unripe berries will not sweeten after picking.

Mango

  • Pick mangoes when they show a change in color (often yellow/red blush) and have a slight give when gently squeezed.

Storing & Freezing

Fridge 5 days sealed. Crunchy toppings live separately until the moment you eat.
