Plant & Growing Tips
Mixed berries
- Plant strawberries in full sun (at least 6-8 hours) in well-drained, slightly acidic soil.
- Strawberries are excellent for containers or hanging baskets; ensure consistent moisture.
- Mulch around plants to suppress weeds and keep developing fruit clean.
Natural Pest Control
- Protect ripening berries from birds with netting draped over the plants.
- Hand-pick slugs and snails in the evening or use slug traps filled with beer.
Harvest
Mixed berries
- Pick strawberries when they are fully red, firm, and easily detach from the plant; harvest frequently as they ripen quickly.
Storing & Freezing
Fridge up to 3 days.
