Air-Fryer Spicy Buffalo Chicken Wings

Crispy, tangy, and packed with flavor, these spicy buffalo chicken wings will satisfy your cravings in no time.

~35 mintotal

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce (such as Frank's RedHot)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Celery sticks and blue cheese dressing for serving

Cooking Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings with olive oil, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper, ensuring wings are well coated.

  2. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F).

  3. Place the seasoned chicken wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.

  4. Cook the wings for 25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through at the 12-minute mark for even crispiness.

  5. After 25 minutes, check the wings for doneness; if you desire extra crispiness, cook for an additional 3-5 minutes.

  6. Remove the wings from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

  7. Serve the buffalo wings hot with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing.

Optional Enhancements

  • Use drumsticks instead of wings for a different cut.
  • Swap hot sauce for a milder barbecue sauce for a less spicy option.
  • Use an air-fryer safe parchment paper for easier cleanup.

Plant & Growing Tips

Celery

  • Grow celery in consistently moist, fertile soil and provide partial shade during the hottest parts of the day to prevent bolting.
  • Start seeds indoors 10-12 weeks before your last frost date, or plant young seedlings directly into the garden.
  • Space plants 6-10 inches apart to allow for good air circulation and stalk development.

Natural Pest Control

  • Hand-pick slugs and snails in the evening, or use beer traps to deter them from celery stalks.
  • Spray aphids off celery plants with a strong stream of water, or apply an insecticidal soap for heavier infestations.

Harvest

Celery

  • Harvest outer stalks as needed once they reach 6-8 inches tall, cutting them at the base to encourage continuous growth.
  • To harvest the entire plant, cut it at soil level when the stalks are firm and reach a desirable size, typically 12-18 inches tall.

Storing & Freezing

Store cooled wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, air fry at 180°C (350°F) for 5-7 minutes until heated through.
